Cate's Special Visitors

This afternoon we arrived home from the hospital, and now we are working on getting settled in. Cate definitely has a personality all her own--she is a cuddler and loves to be held. She has a thin layer of dark brown hair covering her entire head and a small birthmark on the right side of her head near her temple. It looks like it will be covered by her hair once it gets thicker. We can't believe she is finally here, and we are enjoying every sleep-deprived minute!

Yesterday Will came to the hospital to visit his new little sister. His interest was fleeting, but when he did pay attention to Cate he wanted to pat her on the head like he does to Laney. Mostly he just wanted to play with the MegaBloks that we had bought him and drink the smoothie that he confiscated from me.

Will was very excited when we got home today, but I think he was a little surprised to see Cate's infant carrier come into the house with us. Despite a lot of crying by Cate shortly after our arrival (it was time for her to eat), Will did well and shared goldfish crackers with me while I nursed Cate and he pointed to the animals on the boppy slipcover. Only time will tell, but so far Will is handling Cate's arrival very well.

Cate also had visits from some very special grandparents. Thank you all again for helping take care of Will while we welcomed Cate into the world.
