Last weekend two of my girlfriends came to visit for the weekend. Andrea and Nikki got a little peak into the life of a stay at home mom on Friday while Billy was home sick (he caught Cate's stomach bug), and then Saturday was all ours to eat, drink, shop, and get pedicures. Thankfully Billy was back on his feet after about 24 hours and was able to spend the day with the kids while we had some "girl time".
After taking Will to get his hair cut, Billy and the kids went to the Dallas World Aquarium. From what I hear Will had a great time and ran from exhibit to exhibit. He shocked Billy by pointing to something and saying "manatee. cow. moo." It was in fact a manatee (he must really be paying attention to those little animal flashcards he likes to look at) (Ed. Note from Billy: Manatees are sometimes called sea cows. The boy is clearly a genius and chip off the old father block). Oh and he now seems to think sharks swim in the sky since the shark tank was one where you walked through a tunnel and the sharks swam all around you.
In other news, Cate's first tooth broke through over the weekend (a whole three months earlier than Will's first tooth made its debut). Number two seems to be right behind it, so hopefully she can get number two through and get back to her old self. She is still suffering from her stomach bug. Our pediatrician's nurse said she may have bowel issues for 10-14 days! We've started with pedialyte a couple times a day and it is slowly getting better. She is still in good spirits, so other than continuing to do lots of laundry we are hopefully finished with the stomach bug at our house.
Today Cate had her six month check-up. She weighs 17 pounds 15 ounces (78th percentile) and is 28 3/4 inches long (98th percentile). Her head circumference is 17 inches (75th percentile). She is healthy and progressing right along. Four shots and one oral vaccine later and we were ready to go.
