Our hotel was in Times Square (hence the M&M store in the background).
Thursday night we checked out Heartland Brewery (a NYC brewery) and then went to see the musical Spider Man. Spider Man was a neat show--lots of interaction with the audience as the actors flew overhead. After the show we stopped to check in on the Rangers. The game was playing in Times Square and as I took the picture I envisioned myself posting the picture and talking about the Rangers winning the World Series that night. Well, if you watched that game you know that despite the fact that the Rangers were only one out away from winning it all TWICE, they lost game 6.
Billy finished up a little early on Friday, so we decided to visit Central Park since the weather forecast for Saturday was not looking good. It never ceases to amaze me that this massive beautiful park exists in the heart of Manhattan.
We were able to obtain passes to the 9/11 Memorial, so we headed that direction on Friday night. The last time we were in NYC the Memorial site was still under heavy construction and the Memorial itself had not been started. The design of the Memorial could not be more breathtaking--pictures do not do it justice.
The surviving tree
When we got back to our hotel we ordered a pizza and proceeded to watch the Rangers lose game 7. We woke up Saturday to pretty heavy rain. We headed down to The Village and by the time we made it to John's Pizza (our favorite pizza joint) we were pretty soaked. While we were enjoying our pizza the rain turned into snow and the snow poured down the rest of the day. Three inches was reported in Manhattan. We left The Village and headed over to Chelsea Market. I'm not sure why we never went to Chelsea Market while we lived in NY, but boy were we missing out. It is a food-lovers heaven!
Fresh fish anyone?
Two crepes please!
Now that's a lot of freshly baked bread!
For four whole days I did not change a diaper, get spit up on, cut up food or pick it up off the floor. I also didn't get to see those fabulous smiles, receive those wonderful hugs and kisses, or hear my favorite sound in the world--my children laughing. After a few days of rest and relaxation, I was more than ready to get back and be the best momma possible to my precious babies!

Sounds like an awesome trip and a great time away! Love all the pictures!
