Fun Filled Weekend

Will's Aunt Sarah came to visit this past weekend, so we made sure and kept her busy. Saturday morning was spent at the zoo with Daddy, Aunt Sarah, and Uncle Ben. I stayed home to do some light yard work and to get a few things done inside the house. (Honestly, our walks around the neighborhood these days get me pretty winded and tired, so I figured the ups and downs at the zoo would wipe me out for the rest of the day.)

During this trip, Will's favorite animal was the gorilla, and one of them happened to be having a birthday party. While the crowd was surrounding the gorilla exhibit to watch him eat his form of a birthday cake, Will provided entertainment. (Background information--we recently received ZooNews, a publication from the Dallas Zoo for its members, and Will has enjoyed flipping through it. There is an article on the new gorillas that just moved in, so Billy taught Will that gorillas beat their chests while yelling.) Well, right before the action started I am told that Will leaned his head back and did one of his best gorilla impressions. Apparently he had a few members of the crowd cracking up.















On Sunday afternoon while I attended a baby shower for a former colleague of mine Billy and Sarah took Will to the KC Easter Egg Hunt. Will had a rough weekend between trying to cut a new tooth and knocking a couple others up into his gums (explanation to come), hence the pacifier and no shoes.

A couple days ago Will opened the shutters, climbed onto the cedar chest, and decided to catch up on his ESPN magazine



I will have updates tomorrow after our 36 weeks appointment and Will's first appointment with a pediatric dentist. We went to mass on Saturday evening and Will managed to fall and knock his two front teeth up into his gums. I didn't see the worst of it, but Billy said you could barely see slivers of the teeth poking through the gums (like they had just broken through for the first time). We left church and by the time we got home his teeth had come back down. We didn't know such a thing was possible, but the pediatrician said it can happen at this age. Since permanent teeth don't usually start forming until around age 2, there is likely no damage done, but we're going to go see a dentist tomorrow just to make sure. We planned on taking him to a dentist for a checkup sometime between 18 months and 2 years anyways, so now we're just doing it on the early end.
