Today we had Will's two year checkup and Cate's 4 month checkup. Having two at one time really lengthened the time we were there...we were there for over an hour and were only waiting for a nurse or the doctor a few minutes here and there.
Will currently weighs 29 pounds 15 ounces (73rd percentile). The nurse was really trying to get him up to an even 30, but he wasn't quite there. He is 36 1/4 inches long (93rd percentile) and his head circumference is 19 1/2 inches (75th percentile). I was prepared for him to get a vaccine or two, but he was only due for the flu shot (they did the flu mist so no prick) and a finger prick to get a blood count and to do a lead test. He didn't cry when they pricked his finger but getting the band-aid put on his finger really upset him. For whatever reason he does not like having band-aids on...this wasn't the first time he has acted as if a band-aid was attacking him or something.
Miss Cate now weighs 15 pounds 1 ounce (73rd percentile) and is 26 1/4 inches long (98th percentile). Her head circumference is 16 1/2 inches (82nd percentile). She had a wonderful checkup as well, but had to get a couple of vaccines--one oral and two shots. :-( She was not happy about getting pricked, but she calmed down pretty quickly after it was all over.
We headed home afterward and spent the rest of the day hanging out here at the house. Cate has handled her vaccines pretty well--no fever and only a tad bit fussier than usual. We were given the go ahead to start Cate on solids in a few weeks and to work toward potty training Will, so many funny pictures and stories to come I'm sure...
