Road Trip

Over the weekend Cate took her first road trip. Now, we only went two hours down the road to East Texas so this was by no means a true representation of our normal length of time on the road going to El Campo or Claremore, but it was Cate's first jaunt out of the DFW area. She was a rockstar and slept most of the way. Will on the other hand hasn't been out of the DFW area in about 4 months, so he is definitely out of the swing of things. Thirty minutes down the road and he was already saying "up". I think our first 4 1/2 hour trips are going to be trying for us all.

We started the day in Frankston visiting my cousin Marcie and her family. Will loved watching their dog Diesel swim in the lake. We hopped in the car for a quick trip over to Tyler to meet Miss Vivianne (Traci and Charlie's new baby girl)! She is only a few weeks younger than Cate, so it is going to be a lot of fun watching them grow up together. While we were there Will played in the shallow end of their pool and loved watching their dogs jump in. All day he kept calling all of the dogs Laney (or "yayee" as Will says), so I'm pretty sure he thinks all dogs are named Laney. With all of the babies and fabulous conversation my camera never made it out of my bag. Here is a picture of Cate and Vivianne that Traci took.

We spent a fairly lazy Sunday hanging around the house and enjoying more water play.

We've got to get a bigger pool for this kid...
