Here's a quick synopsis of what Will is up to lately...
- likes to put his stuffed Mickey Mouse and Winnie the Pooh on the changing table so I'll put diapers on them (like I don't change enough diapers with two kids?!?!?!?)
- has developed a new love for his paci since his baby sister arrived
- gradually getting more words, but still won't make a sound to indicate he wants his aforementioned beloved paci (even though he can make the "p" sound because he will say something that resembles "pickle" when he wants one of my mom's homemade pickles)
- likes to help take care of Cate, including stuffing a pacifier in her mouth when she cries, getting a diaper for me when I change her diaper, and pouring water on her (and himself) when we are giving her a bath
- this week he is into coloring, watering his flowers, and playing with his new trucks in his sand box (just last week it was checking the mail and putting together puzzles)
- climbing EVERYTHING--there is almost nothing in our house this boy can't find a way to climb on top of...let's just say he has made my heart jump out of my chest more than once in the last few weeks
- sits on his little potty (We are not potty training yet since Will has enough things to adjust to right now, but Billy reads him a potty book every night before bathtime and we brought out his new potty and put it in the bathroom so he could get used to seeing one like the one in his book. Occasionally he will plop down on it before bathtime. On a side note, last night Billy asked him if he could go pee pee in his potty. Will contemplated it and then Billy saw his stomach contract and a smile spread across his face and he realized that Will was doing it! Again, we're not potty training yet, but this gives me hope that it might go okay when we give it a try in a few months.)
- developed some sleep issues/separation anxiety over the last week or so (we figure it's related to Cate's arrival since he hasn't seem to have had any adjustment issues up until now), but he seems to be working through it and crying less at naptime and bedtime
After crying through naptime Will was so exhausted while eating his snack he thought he'd take a little snooze in his highchair!

Love the picture! Will is getting so big -- I can't believe he's almost 2. :-) ~Cassie
