Lucy Turns 5 Months Old

5 months, seriously?!? Lucy's first year is flying by! This little girl continues to be pretty laid back. In the last week or so she has really begun to grab at anything and everything within her reach. And if it's something she can chew on, it will be in her mouth in a flash, although her preferred teether is someone's finger. In the last couple days she has found her feet and her toe has even made it in her mouth a time or two. She is really starting to love her toys, exersaucer, and jumperoo. She has become very deliberate in her movements, and it's very clear what she wants now. And Aunt Sarah taught her how to blow spit bubbles this past weekend. Needless to say, she has made major headways in the last week or so. I almost feel like she is a completely different baby than she was a week ago.

Now on to her eating and sleeping--blah! Shortly after I bragged on how Lucy started sleeping through the night on her own, she regressed majorly. Her distracted eating from month four turned in to wanting to eat all night long. With all of this came supply issues. Long story short, I had to start supplementing with a bit of formula. She is now getting about 60-70% mama's milk and 30-40% formula and is now only nursing once per night. Though not ideal, we'll continue on this way as long as we can... At this point, Lucy is super easy to put to sleep. She generally prefers to fall asleep on her own in her bed (probably because poor kid rarely gets to be rocked to sleep). I have found that she falls asleep even easier whenever she has a blankie or hand to hold. All in all she continues to be such a blessing in our family--hearing her belly laughs while Will and Cate act goofy melts my heart!

A few pics of Lucy over the last month (Ed. note: the first one is courtesy of the big kids)...
