As you probably already know, Dallas got a lot of ice at the end of last week. Billy was due to fly back from Orlando on Thursday night, just ahead of the storm. Thankfully he moved his flight up a bit because he ended up on the last flight out of there. We were iced in on Friday and Saturday and managed to make it to church on Sunday. Schools were still closed on Monday, but the roads were clear enough that Billy could go into work and we could make it to the YMCA and to Emler for swimming lessons. Everyone was a little stir crazy by then as you can imagine. We were lucky though in that we never did lose our electricity. The kids were excited, and Will came up with the term "ice snow". The slight incline in our yard even provided for a little sledding (if you can even call it that).
This morning the kids and I loaded up for story time with Santa, followed by a little one-on-one time with him. Will is ALL IN this year for all things Christmas. Cate mostly just follows Will's lead, but she was definitely lukewarm with jolly ol' St. Nick.
