27 Months

Will turned 27 months old today, which seemed like a good time to post an update on what he is up to these days.

- Some of his favorite activities include doing puzzles, looking through his flashcards, and playing outside

- Loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Choo-Choo Soul on the Disney Channel and his favorite Christmas movies/shows were Mickey Mouse Christmas and Frosty the Snowman

- Still a big eater--some of his favorite foods are guacamole, pizza, broccoli, carrots (or really anything) with ranch dressing, most fruits, macaroni and cheese, oreo cookies (not a big fan of many other sweets), applesauce, ketchup (by itself or dipped) and cereal and milk (Frosted Flakes is probably his fav)

- His go-to stall tactic for going to sleep, especially at nap time, is "one book" (i.e., let's read one book)

- Loves his sister to pieces, but has started to get a little more frustrated with her lately because now that she is crawling (and wants to play with her big brother), she tends to mess up whatever he is doing

- Haven't tried potty training officially yet, but he does go on his little potty before his bath each night

- Calculated risk-taker--tries new things such as the big kid slides at the school playground but sometimes needs just a little reassurance

- Still gets his paci when he sleeps (I know, I know)

- Talking up a storm--starting to form short sentences and repeats everything

- Some of my words/mannerisms are starting to come out since he spends so much time with me--just yesterday he was thinking of the names of his dinosaurs and while doing so he would tap his index finger against his lips

- Loves to dance and his favorite song right now is probably Hakuna Matata (we have the CD for the Lion King soundtrack in the car)

- Common words/phrases: "nope," "no Laney/Cate," "Look Mommy/Daddy," and "Watch this!"

- Counts to 15, knows some basic shapes (triangle, square, circle, star, heart) and knows some of his colors (learned the color black first and never messes that one up for some reason)

- Sleeps (or at least is laying in his bed) from around 7:45 pm until around 7:30-8:00 am most days with a 2 hour nap in the afternoon

Speaking of sleep, every night I go up and check on the kids before we go to sleep ourselves. Almost nightly I find Will in a very odd position, leaving me to wonder how in the world he fell asleep that way. About 90% of the time, his head is under his pillow. One example...

And not to leave out Cate, here are a couple pictures back from Thanksgiving that I just got from Will and Cate's Great Aunt Tooter.

  1. Your picture of him sleeping cracks me up! I often wonder what it will be like when Easton is in his own bed because he is a WILD sleeper too! :-)
