Cate's First Big Trip

Other than a two hour jaunt to East Texas, Cate hadn't been out of the DFW area. All of that changed last weekend--Cate took her first trip to El Campo for her cousin's first birthday party.

After putting Will to bed and spending a couple hours at Jenna and Brandon's house, we came home to find this little slumber party.



People stopped on the side of the highway taking pictures in a patch of bluebonnets in the spring is no surprise to you if you grew up in Texas. Having grown up in Oklahoma, my husband thought this was an interesting concept (okay, so he probably thought it was kind of weird--Ed. Note: I did think it was weird). Anywho, on a similar note, if you grew up the child of a cotton farmer it is a sure bet that you have pictures of yourself out in the cotton. Not sure why, but it's just one of those things. Here are our annual cotton pictures (with 7 kids, the oldest being 7 years old, these were our attempts at least).
