More Adventures in the Life of Will

On Wednesday Will and I made a trip down to El Campo while Billy stayed behind to work. I got to spend some special time with my niece, Kinsley. After picking her up from pre-school, we went back to my parent's house where she played with Will and helped Granny feed him. Next, she and I had dinner at Mr. Gatti's (the best place ever according to Kins because they have salad, noodles, and pizza). After dinner and games I took Kinsley to her gymnastics class (yes, 3 and 4 years olds have their gymnastics class scheduled from 6:45-7:45...doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me) and watched her tumble away. It was so great to be able to spend some time just the two of us.

On Thursday morning Will had a playdate with Dayton and Mallory, the kiddos of my good friend, Jenna. Will and Mallory mostly just played next to each other and didn't really interact much (normal for this age), but Dayton did great and helped entertain the both of them. Thanks again guys for having us!

Later in the day we headed out to the Wharton County Youth Fair to watch my nephew, Kolin, show his bucket calf. He has been raising his little calf, Smokey, for quite some time and did great! Will liked Smokey and petted him just like he does Laney.

On Friday morning before we headed back to Dallas the kiddos came by again to play. Kolin attempted to read to Will, but Will had plans to eat the book instead...

While we were in El Campo I gave Will his first saltine cracker. He brought it to his mouth, barely touched his lips, and then put it down. It never made it to his mouth again and instead got crushed into little pieces. We're still working on finger foods, but Will is dubious...

Will has been crawling for one week now and you'd think he would stick to plain ol' crawling for the time being. Well, not my kiddo--he has to scale Mount Boppy Pillow. He intentionally heads straight for it and goes over it instead of around. He earned the nickname "Bruiser" today after scoring two bruises--one he got while he was in his crib (not quite sure how) and the other he got when he crashed after holding onto a toy and straightening his legs from the crawling position.

Mother's Day pictures to come...
