Rounding out summer

Post-move we QUICKLY got as settled as possible and took the kids down to Port Aransas for a long weekend. Due to the move we didn't get a chance to make our earlier planned trip to Destin, but this turned out to be just what we needed to regroup as a family unit after all of the stress surrounding the move (ended up being about 7 days from the first day the packers showed up and the day our stuff was delivered to the new house). My mom was able to join us for part of the trip too which is always nice when trying to "vacation" with four young children! ;-)

This was Emma's first time to a beach and she LOVED it!

The rest of our days off were spent exploring our new city. We just LOVE all of the natural beauty that is just a couple miles from our house. Once school started (and before homework and other activities began) we were even able to spend lots of afternoons continuing to explore...
