Lucy Turns One

Yesterday, our third born turned O-N-E! To say the last year has flown by is truly an understatement. Lucy has become quite the proficient walker and gets going rather fast every once in awhile. She very rarely crawls at all anymore, choosing instead to "walk" on her knees if she needs/wants to. She can bend over while standing to pick something up and stand back up again and can use the floor to stand up if she is in the middle of a room. She loves to be in the middle of the mix, despite any chaos that might be ensuing. She is a dancing maniac and started pointing at things this month, which is convenient given all the Christmas decorations everywhere. Lucy has 7 teeth (almost 8) and eats anything she can get her hands on. She will still occasionally take baby food, but not if there is table food within sight. New words include ba ba for bottle and something that sounds like dog. We're beyond blessed to have had the opportunity to see her grow and develop over the last year, and we're looking forward to many more.

Thanksgiving Day nap with Grampa

A few weeks ago Lucy caught hand, foot & mouth disease--poor baby was miserable!

Lucy's first balloon tree--in future years I plan on covering our big tree in hopes of giving her a special day amidst the Christmas season.

  1. Love the balloon tree idea! I try to separate all of Kiona's birthday stuff away from the invasion of Christmas decorations! Great idea!
