Since our trips to Claremore and El Campo are usually whirlwinds bookended by two long drives, I decided to take the kids up to Oklahoma by myself during the week so that we could stay a few days and really enjoy our time there. We left on a Wednesday afternoon, and despite Cate sleeping only 45 minutes and Will not taking a nap at all that day, the drive up actually went pretty good. Here are some pics from our visit...
Will and Grampa planted a seedling about a year ago and it actually lived, so Grampa had some helpers around to transfer it from the pot into the ground. Will was a boy on a mission while Cate just liked sitting with her feet in the hole and playing in the dirt.
What better way to spend a hot summer day than with some homemade pudding popsicles and some pool time!
While we were there, I had Cate's 1 year pictures taken (only 2 1/2 months late), but more on that when I post the link to the proofs. On Saturday morning we headed to Oklahoma City/Norman to see Great Grandmom and the rest of the family. Billy drove up for the day, so we had two cars, each with a sleeping child in it, on our drives back to Dallas that same night. Throughout our time in Oklahoma (both Claremore and OKC/Norman), we were able to spend some good quality time with all of the kids' grandparents, great grandparents, and aunts and uncles on the Lepak side (and even "Cousin Eric" and Annie), so it was definitely worth the solo trip and will be one that we'll for sure be making again.
