30 and 10

Today marks two big milestones--Billy turned 30 and Cate turned 10 (months, that is)! Since you probably don't want or need an update as to what Billy is up to at age 30, I'll skip right on to Cate.

Cate is one active and talkative little girl. Outside of Ma Ma and Da Da, no other words are discernible, but she sure babbles like she has a lot to say! Cate is cruising around the house like crazy, and today she took half-steps a couple different times (not enough to say she took her first steps, but she's right there). She has also started to do a little climbing--she will go up one or two stairs, and I recently found her on top of the little wagon that holds blocks.

Cate eats three square meals a day (mixture of fruits, veggies, meats, and grains) with one or two snacks. She is taking three 7 ounce bottles and 1 six ounce bottle each day. Cate has become a pro at holding her own bottle (a must when big brother wants to eat at the same time). She is getting really good at using her sippy cup for water, but she still prefers Will's cups. She's a little picky when it comes to textures--she isn't a huge fan of some finger foods that she eats just fine pureed (example--she eats pureed sweet potatoes and carrots just fine but spits out the chunks of the steamed versions).

Cate's personality continues to develop. She runs her fingers through her hair and becomes a real mama's girl when she gets tired. Her favorite "mischievous" activities are splashing in Laney's water dish, playing with the wine rack, and playing with the TV/Uverse box/Playstation. She enjoys standing next to Will's chair while he eats and tackling Will and Laney if given the opportunity.

Cate is growing by leaps and bounds, and she is starting to wear size 12 month clothes. She now has 5 teeth (3 on top and 2 on bottom) and seems to be working on a couple more. Cate enjoys having her teeth brushed and will chomp down pretty hard if given the opportunity (including when her teeth aren't being brushed).

It's crazy to me that in just two short months Cate will turn 1 year old. As much as I've tried to cherish every moment, I feel like the time is just slipping through my fingers. Here's a picture of our big girl today ready for church.
