The Newest One Year Old On The Block

Back on August 5, Emma turned one. Most say the first year flies by so fast--in our case with Emma, the second half of the first year flew. Those first six months were pretty darn rough at times and felt like they'd never get better. They have, and Miss Emma is mostly all smiles these days!

I don't have her stats yet because we had to find a new doctor post-move, but she seems to be right on track with the older three. She has started to throw mini-fits but they're over in seconds and are one of the few ways she can communicate her wants. This kid loves water--pool, beach, and most of all splash pads! We recently tried switching her over to milk but the spitting up began so we'll be trying lactose-free milk next. She still gets a bottle in the middle of the night almost every single night (I know, but it's what works for us right now). Emma has started "carrying on conversations" as she babbles to you, you respond, and she babbles more. And the toilet paper--leave a bathroom door open and she'll have it off the roll and torn into pieces within minutes. She wakes most mornings with crazy bed head and loves to give tight hugs around your neck and big sloppy open mouthed kisses! She is practically running these days as she tries to keep up with her siblings. Her newest tricks also include climbing out of her highchair and onto her tray and onto anything else she can manage. Good times. We celebrated her big day with cupcakes while on vacation at Port Aransas!
