Holiday Season - Part 2

In early December we took the kids to see Santa. Lucy was having none of jolly old St. Nicholas. Turns out she was getting sick...

While Billy stayed behind with Lucy while she was still in the throws of hand, foot and mouth, the big kids and I made a quick trip down to El Campo to celebrate Christmas with my dad's side of the family. Did a poor job of taking pictures, but they had a ton of fun with their cousins and some of my cousins' kids that they hadn't seen in years...

Lucy's 12 month photo shoot (plus a few pics for the ol' Christmas cards)

Next up, Cate's PK4 Christmas Program--don't let her sweet little angel face fool you... ;-)

Two days later Billy ran his half marathon. The kids had made signs for him, but we couldn't bring them out to the race because the weather was horrible--cold and raining. Somehow we timed it just right and got to our spot, he ran by a few minutes later, and we were back in the warm, dry car. Probably not his best race considering the weather and the fact that I'm pretty sure he was running on a broken toe, but we were so proud he pushed through and accomplished his goal.

Later that day we took Will and Cate to see the Nutcracker Ballet. Cate didn't stop dancing for the rest of the day, and she proclaimed that she will be going every Christmas. Guess it was a success...

With the next week came the long-awaited release of Star Wars 7. Billy had been guiding the kids through Star Wars 1-6 over the past year just so they'd be ready for the new movie. He previewed it on opening night to make sure it wasn't too scary (great excuse, right?!?) and then the four of us went to see it the next day.

The weekend before Christmas my cousin was getting married in the Dallas area, so my side of the family all came up and stayed with us so that we could go ahead and celebrate Christmas together.

The kids received an Extreme Coaster from my parents and have been really breaking it in. Even Lucy gets in on the action and rides on their laps. The best part--the person who is riding next has to push the car all the way back and up to the top. Awesome way to wear them out!
