Kids At The Symphony?

A couple Sundays ago, Will and I spent an afternoon at the symphony. The Plano Symphony hosts a Family Symphony Sunday Series for children ages 3-10. Each Sunday features a different section of the orchestra (strings, winds, percussion, & brass). The first Sunday was strings. Before the concert, Will got to participate in the instrument "petting zoo", do arts & crafts, and pretend to be a conductor. Between the pieces, the musicians would introduce their instruments, point out differences between them, and show the different ways to play them. Will loves Little Einsteins so I thought he might enjoy it and he did. He kept talking about the cello and even recognized a piece by Mozart that they sometimes play on Little Einsteins.

A few pics from the "petting zoo" (and continuation of the squinty smile...)

Ready for the concert to begin!
