Will & Cate Update

Last weekend Cate and I went on a little road trip. The boys stayed home while we drove down to San Antonio to watch Day 1 of Kinsley's Cheerleading Competition.









The girls did an awesome job! Kins is the top left flyer in all three pictures.







After spending the night in the hotel with Granny and Paw Paw, we drove to Austin to have Cate's 9 month pictures taken. Here are a few that Cindy put on Facebook...more to come later.









After that we attended a baby shower for my good friend, Nikki, and her soon-to-be-born baby boy, John Winston.

We topped our trip off by visiting Scott, Cassie & Easton for the evening before driving back. Whew, it was one marathon of a day! Cate had so much fun playing with Easton, and I don't think he minded her too much either...time for a sibling?!? ;-)











On Monday, Charlie, Traci and Vivianne were in Dallas, so me and the kids joined them at the Zoo. I'm pretty sure after our excursion Charlie and Traci will not be wanting baby #2 anytime soon! ;-)



Yesterday Cate had her 9 month check-up. She received a good report, and we were able to get some new measurements. She weighs 21 pounds 5 ounces (93rd percentile) and is 29 1/4 inches long (97th percentile). Her head circumference is 18 1/4 inches (97th percentile). Apparently neither of my children are going to take after me in the size department... Will and I stayed in the room while Billy took Cate to get weighed and measured. Cate started screaming when she was getting weighed (not sure why she was protesting that so much), and Will became very concerned about Cate Cate (what we sometimes call her). It touches my heart when these two show how much they love each other. Not to worry, they are normal siblings--two seconds later Cate is sure to be getting into Will's stuff while he proceeds to shove her aside!

A few days ago, out of the blue, Will just starting saying his ABCs. I've been "working" with him on his ABCs for, oh, two years now, and I didn't really feel like much of it was sinking in, but apparently it was. Below is a video of Will saying his ABCs. He had already done it a couple times before we got Billy's iPhone out, so his interest was waning a little at this point (it sure as heck wasn't waning in church today as he belted it out). Other than leaving out the letter J and running L-M-N-O-P together a bit, he's got it down. It seems so silly, but it's so rewarding to feel like the time put in here and there during the day does matter. Until next time...
