Childbirth Classes & Baylor Hospital

Yesterday we finished our childbirth classes at Baylor. The facilities and options at Baylor are amazing. Here is a picture of the nurse's station in labor and delivery and a picture of a LDR (labor/deliver/recover) room.

Every LDR room has a TV with DVD player, cd player, rocking chair, birthing ball, bath tub/shower, and a transformer-like bed that does all sorts of crazy stuff. Basically, you labor, deliver and recover (for 1-2 hours after birth) in one room and then move up to the newly rennovated Family Center for the rest of your stay. They have everything they need in each LDR room and in each Family Center room to take care of the baby so the baby never has to leave your room from the time you give birth until the moment you get in the car to go home so long as there is no medical reason they need to take the baby to the nursery (obviously you can send the baby to the nursery if you feel like it or are just simply exhausted and need a break).

Here's a link to a short video tour of the Family Center rooms in case you're interested: http://www.baylorhealth.com/PhysiciansLocations/Dallas/SpecialtiesServices/WomensHealth/Pages/NewFamilyCenter.aspx
