Eighteen Months Already?!?

Today our little girl turned EIGHTEEN months old! To say time has flown would be an understatement.

Cate currently weighs 28 pounds 12 ounces (+95th percentile) and is 34 1/2 inches tall (also +95th percentile). Her head circumference is right up there too at 19 inches (92nd percentile). Cate loves to eat, and some of her favs include ANYTHING with ranch dressing and/or ketchup, cereal and milk, and pretty much anything sweet (the last few days she has been asking for those fruit/veggie squeeze pouch things a ton). This little girl does not want to be left out and wants to do everything Will does (i.e., if Will is drinking milk out of a regular cup with a straw, Cate wants her milk poured out of her sippy cup and into a regular cup too).

Cate is quite the firecracker and can hang with the best when it comes to throwing tantrums. She is very headstrong and has an opinion about just about everything (i.e., what bib she wears, what color paci she's using, etc.). She is crazy about her clothes. If clothes are hanging on the drying rack, she will pick out what she is going to wear. If she doesn't want to wear something she'll take it off and if she wants something on she'll try herself and then start crying for help when she gets all tangled up. Oh, and she loves anything that sparkles, especially diamonds. ;-)

Cate is keeping busy running, climbing everything, and trying to jump. She loves to swing and slide and is quite the daredevil. She loves playing with her dolls and her favorite show is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Cate has a handful of books she always picks out to read, but I'd say her favorite is a toss up between We're Going On A Bear Hunt, Moo, Baa, La La La, and Bubbles Bubbles. Over the past few weeks Cate has become much more verbal and is saying new words every day. She loves to sing her ABCs (parts of it run together quite a bit), and she's starting to link two words together.

Cate's signature is her hair. It is usually hanging straight down in her face (bows end up falling out or she pulls them out). She twirls the hair in the front when she gets sleepy and usually falls asleep the same way, so she sports quite the Rhianna/Elvis 'do when she wakes up. When Cate was born we talked a lot about how she is going to be in the grade right behind Will in school and how he'll be there to watch out for her, especially with the boys. However, if Cate stays on her current course, I think she will be more than capable of taking care of herself. We might even need to start praying for the future husband of our hot mess! ;-)
